Sign up to help organize the 2022 gwaMIT Leadership Conference!
We are currently accepting sign-ups to help plan our annual Leadership Conference, which will be held from April 11th to April 15th:

  *   Co-Chairs: Conference Co-Chairs lead the committee members, set the conference theme, and oversee all general planning of the conference
  *   Event Leads: each conference has 4-5 Event Leads who each spearhead a single event (either an invited speaker, a panel, a workshop, etc.)
  *   Committee Members: attend regular meetings, contribute to theme brainstorming, logistics, publicity, and volunteer during events

  1.  Sign up for Introduction to Deep Learning 6.S191
When: January 24th – 28th, 2022 1 – 4PM EST
Where: zoom strongly encouraged; 10-250 for (limited) in-person attendance
Details: MIT’s Introduction to Deep Learning (6.S191) will be running virtually this IAP (January 2022)! This is a great opportunity for those interested in machine learning and/or in gaining practical experience implementing deep learning architectures and algorithms.

The class is a combination of content-based lectures on neural networks (basics, different architectures and their applications, new frontiers of deep learning research) and practical software labs, which will guide students through implementing these algorithms in the popular framework TensorFlow. The course will conclude with a series of guest lectures from leading researchers from Google, NVIDIA, RevAI, and Innoviz.

Details: SOLE<https://studentlife.mit.edu/sole> and SPXCE<https://studentlife.mit.edu/spxce> are proud to present the 2nd annual virtual I am a LEADer Conference<https://studentlife.mit.edu/content/i-am-leader-conference-schedule> (LEAD - Learning Equity And Diversity) diversity leadership conference. Last year we had 161 students participate and gave out 30+ LEADer badges to students who completed at least 8 of the 21 workshops over the last 2 weeks of IAP. This leadership conference is open to all current MIT undergraduate and graduate students.

Details: Join the Association of MIT Alumnae (AMITA) and Graduate Women at MIT (gwaMIT) Thursday 1/27 from 6-7 pm for an evening of networking and lively discussions on key issues women face today whether at school and/or the workplace. The event will include small, round-table discussions facilitated by alumnae and a chance to network and meet women alumni, undergraduates, graduate students and postdocs interested in similar topics.   1.  Job Opportunities at Generally Intelligent
Kanjun Qui, a former MIT student, runs an AI research company called Generally Intelligent<https://generallyintelligent.ai/>, and they have opportunities for graduate students and postdocs! Generally Intelligent is hiring<https://generallyintelligent.ai/#careers> a small number of in-person ML Research Engineers and remote Systems Engineers. Previous ML experience is not required, but strong software engineering skills are. Generally Intelligent is a research startup investigating the fundamentals of deep learning to build human-like general intelligence. They take a scientific, first-principles approach with inspiration from psychology and neuroscience, evolving simple self-supervised architectures to tackle human developmental milestones of increasing complexity. They have significant funding to freely pursue our research goals over the next decade.
