The Graduate Women Reading Group is accepting new members! Each month, a book is selected based on a theme, and everyone receives a free copy. After a few weeks, we get together for a book discussion, sometimes accompanied by homemade bookish treats. Book themes range from Women's history to memoirs, to science fiction, and more!
If you’re interested in joining, email gwrg-admin at mit.edu<mailto:gwrg-admin at mit.edu> to be added to our mailing list!
Hope to see you at our next book club discussion!

  1. Apply for the Bioautomation Challenge Partner Program
The Bioautomation Challenge is an ongoing program to explore the potential for automation to accelerate life science research. The Challenge is looking for student researcher applicants to the 2022 Partner Program. Partners will be given full access to Emerald Cloud Lab (ECL) in exchange for providing expertise and assistance to Bioautomation Challenge teams and developing an open-source library of cloud lab methods. This is a paid, part-time, remote position.
Anyone with a passion for research can apply! We are looking for individuals who will find new ways to use the cloud lab to obtain the most exciting and groundbreaking results. You will be working with top research teams in order to make new discoveries on high-impact topics such as viral capsid assembly, biomolecular phase-separation, and high-throughput genome engineering.
To learn more and apply visit https://www.bioautomation22.org<https://www.bioautomation22.org/>. Applications received before August 5 will be given priority, but we will continue to accept new applications until positions are filled.

  1. Participate in a relationship pattern study (and help out a womxn grad student!)
Are you interested in potentially learning more about your relationship?
If you have been married or in a committed life partnership for at least 5 years and are interested in participating in 3 short surveys (spread over 2 weeks), please consider participating in this study! Participants will respond to questions about their relationship as well as potentially being asked to engage in a private conversation with their partner about a common relationship pattern. These relationship patterns often describe a core challenge in one’s relationship and discussing these patterns is meant to help couples better understand each partner’s contribution to that pattern. Email relationshippatternstudy at gmail.com<mailto:relationshippatternstudy at gmail.com> to participate! Participants who complete all 3 surveys over 2 weeks will be eligible for a $10 gift card!
If you have any questions, please contact clinical psychology doctoral student and study organizer Jenna Rice at jerice at clarku.edu<mailto:jerice at clarku.edu>.

  1. Opportunity to receive precise birth control recommendations through adyn
About adyn:
adyn<https://www.adyn.com/?utm_source=network_outreach&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=gwamit_laurel> is making birth control selection more scientific and less of an experiment – because nobody should have to suffer through trial-and-error to find their best fit. The Birth Control Test is an at-home test that detects your hormone levels and genetic risk for certain side effects. The test includes a virtual care visit with a licensed medial provider who will help you choose a birth control method based on your results and preferences. You can even fulfill a prescription through adyn for easy, at-home delivery.
Promo exclusively for gwaMIT:
adyn is offering the gwaMIT community $50 off their order of The Birth Control Test<https://adyn.com/shop/the-birth-control-test/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=gwamit> with the promo code GWAMIT50 at checkout! You can contact Laurel Marcus, a 2020 MIT Sloan graduate and current employee at adyn, with any questions (laurel at adyn.com<mailto:laurel at adyn.com>).
