We are pleased to announce the launch of the MIT Work-Life Center’s Spring
Seminar Series. Our presenters, who are experts in their fields, will share
research-based strategies, tips, and information on more than 25 topics,
including eldercare; mindfulness to reduce stress and maintain focus;
supporting your school-age child’s emotional and intellectual development;
U.S. college admissions; cultivating productive relationships at work;
navigating life as a young professional; and creating a successful,
meaningful, and fulfilling next stage of life.

All seminars are free of charge and open to the entire MIT community and
their families; however, registration is required.

Now in its 5th year, the Global Fellows Program remains open for

MIT PhD students will join Imperial College PhD students for 5-days focused
on development of professional skills critical to a successful career.
Through presentations and hands-on activities, participants learn
collaboration, team work, leadership, communication and other essential
professional skills.

The Program dates will be June 8-12.  This FREE program is residential, and
will be in the Greater Boston area - convenient for busy PhD students! The
Fellowship covers travel, room and most meals.

renting an apartment in the greater Boston Area. Many people do not know
their basic rights and responsibilities as tenants when renting an
apartment. What do you do when your heat isn’t working? How do you know if

all the do’s and don’ts of the renting process, including what to look for
in a landlord, a broker, roommates, and the condition of the apartment. You
will also learn about moving in, moving out, and budgeting for savings,
utilities, and parking, as well as important health and safety codes and

The April 24th deadline for the MASS AWIS Member Scholarship is fast
approaching!

The Chapter has a number of women interested in joining as members; however
due to unemployment or underemployment, they cannot afford to pay annual
dues (National and Chapter). The goal of the scholarship is to effectively
provide financial assistance for qualified unemployed or underemployment
applicants seeking Professional, Junior or Student memberships.
Retrospective reimbursement is also available to those who qualify and has
already paid their dues within the past year.

Graduate students and Post-Docs are encouraged to apply.
