2. Volunteer for VPR Consent Campaign (Sign up now)
Sign up: http://bit.ly/ConsentCampaign

The Violence Prevention & Response (VPR) program is interested in launching a consent campaign for the MIT community in response to increasing numbers of hotline calls and office visits. VPR is looking to produce a series of posters meant to educate the MIT student body about consent. Our hope is to find student volunteers willing to be featured in the campaign. We're looking for a diverse group of students. If you choose to volunteer, you will be given a list of possible scenarios in advance of your photo shoot and asked to let us know which ones you are not comfortable with. You have the right to decline any pose or volunteer pairing. You will be shown any photos you're in before they are put to use. At any time before or after the posters are produced you will have the right and ability to decline your image being used in the campaign.

We believe this campaign has the potential to not only reduce the number of assaults that occur on campus, but also to help MIT students achieve happier and healthier interpersonal relationships. By volunteering to model for this poster campaign, you are helping to create a better and safer MIT community for us all. To volunteer as a model, please provide your contact info here: http://bit.ly/ConsentCampaign

3. [WGS] Wonder Woman Photo Shoot and Reg Day Film Screening (Tues. Sept. 3, 11am-4pm Photo Shoot, 7pm Film)

Please join WGS in celebrating ALL Wonder Women on REG DAY Tuesday - September 3, 2013. WGS will host a Wonder Woman photo shoot from 11AM - 4PM in LOBBY 10 and a film screening of the acclaimed documentary Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines at 7PM. Both events are free and open to the public.

Photo Shoot: The Wonder Woman costume -- lasso of truth, tiaras, T-shirts and skirts for children and adults of all sizes – is provided at the photo shoot. Free Wonder Woman swag for all participants!

Film Screening: MIT Women's and Gender Studies Program and Student Activities Office present a REG DAY film screening. WONDER WOMEN! THE UNTOLD STORY OF AMERICAN SUPERHEROINES traces the fascinating evolution and legacy of Wonder Woman. From the birth of the comic book superheroine in the 1940s to the blockbusters of today, WONDER WOMEN! looks at how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society’s anxieties about women’s liberation. WONDER WOMEN! goes behind the scenes with Lynda Carter, Lindsay Wagner, comic writers and artists, and real-life superheroines such as Gloria Steinem, Kathleen Hanna and others, who offer an enlightening and entertaining counterpoint to the male-dominated superhero genre. Discussion with WGS Professor A. Walsh to follow.
