The GWAMIT Executive Board has an opening to be filled immediately!  Please
consider applying.  The GWAMIT Finance Chair:

   - Manages over $25K in funding allocations****
      - This includes reimbursements to members for approved purchases
      (e.g. meeting food, event items)****
   - Works with the entire GWAMIT leadership, including planning teams and
   chairs for the following:****
      - Fall Leadership Conference****
      - Spring Empowerment Conference****
      - Collaborative Events****
      - Mentoring Program****
   - Advises on spending and budgeting****
   - Meets regularly with account administrators

Skills developed include:****

   - Leadership****
   - Communication****
   - Negotiation****

No experience required (analytic skills and Excel proficiency are
recommended) - skills above will be developed through mentoring by the
Executive Board.

*Interested in helping women graduate students connect to faculty and
alumni mentors? Mentoring program is now recruiting committee members!

1. What is the Mentoring Program? *

   - A yearlong program: we match mentors and mentees during the summer,
   and groups meet individually every month
   - Three events during the year:  kick-off dinner, spring social,
   end-of-year reception

2. How can I get involved with Mentoring Program Planning Committee?
a) Open positions include:

   - Advertising Lead: Recruit new grad students to the program
   - Event Planning Lead: Plan the two dinners and spring social

b) Committee members are guaranteed participation in the program and have
the chance to choose their mentors*

The Consulting Club at MIT (CCM) and the Harvard Graduate Consulting Club
(HGCC) are delighted to announce the 2012 MIT vs. Harvard Case Competition,
and registration is now open!


The MIT vs. Harvard Case Competition is a great way to learn about
consulting, get experience working in teams, get exposure to real business
problems and network with consultants and other students across Harvard and
MIT.  During the competition, teams of 4 participants will work
together over 11 days to crack a real business case and prepare for a
presentation to a panel of judges from various top consulting firms.
 Throughout the competition, you will be mentored by consultants
and industry experts who will help you structure the case, find the
resources, obtain industry specific insights, and cover other areas
pertinent to the case. You may also find the feedback provided by judges to
be helpful as you hone your case solving skills.


TIMELINE
7/25   Applications due at 11:59PM
7/27   Selected participants will be notified by email
8/7     2-6 PM Kickoff : case company presentation, case materials
distributed
8/10   1-5 PM Consultant Mentoring Session
8/14   1-5 PM Industry Expert Interview session
8/17   9-4 PM Simi-finals and Finals

PRIZE
A total of $1,500 cash prize will be awarded to the top three teams.

Please note that the submission of your resume is REQUIRED for admission to
the case competition.  You do NOT need to register as a team; teams will be
formed by the organizing committee. Spots are limited to 80 participants
(40 from MIT and 40 from Harvard), so we will unfortunately not be able to
accommodate all applicants.  Please note once you’re selected, you should
be able to participate in ALL THE 4 SESSIONS on August 7th, 10th, 14th, and
17th, as well as ACTIVTLY contribute to your team.

Please join MASS-AWIS for the annual FREE summer picnic. Friends and family
are welcome to attend! Please bring an international food dish to share and
chairs, blankets, and beverages for you and your guests. If you have any
fun lawn games (croquet, Bocce ball, Frisbees, etc.) please bring them with
you! Open to men, women, and children alike.



Public Transportation: Take the MBTA Red Line to the end at Alewife
Station. Come out of the station and walk past the Summer Shack Restaurant
and over the railroad bridge. Turn left into the parking lot of the Fresh
Pond Mall. Walk around the left side next to Staples. Danehy Park is behind
the mall on the left. Once you enter the Danehy parking lot, the dog park
is to the left. Walk past the dog park to the picnic area. Look for the
tables with balloons.
