1. Graduate Consortium in Women’s Studies Organizing Committees

This is an excellent professional development activity - involving a
community of like-minded students in the creation of a conference on a
topic of your choosing for graduate students doing work in Women's and
Gender Studies. Past conference topics include: Who's Laughing? The
Politics of Humor; Shifting Gender Identitites in the face of War,
Globalization, and Natural Disaster; and 'Beyond Revolution or Behind
It?' The politics and practice of contemporary feminism across
academic and activist communities. More information about these
events is online.

If you are interested in joining a conference organizing committee,
please email Andi Sutton at arsutton at mit.edu by May 10, 2010. There
will be one preliminary planning meeting in late May/early June, and
meetings will resume in August with a conference in Spring 2011.
Please send an email if you would like more information, and let us
know whether or not a late spring, early fall meeting will work with
your summer schedule.
