his goals for next year are to increase student "inclusion in

decision-making", "transparency and communications with student
body",<br>
and address graduate student "cost of living".<br><br>

<i>Vice President:</i> <b>Hector Hernandez<br><br>
</b>Hector is a 3rd-year PhD student in the Chemistry department. Next
year <br>
he hopes to work on "developing interdepartmental communication
between<br>
graduate students" and the "development of student leadership
groups" <br>
within departments.<br><br>

<i>Secrectary:</i> <b>Lucy Wong<br><br>
</b>Lucy is a 2nd-year MArch student in the department of
Architecture.<br>
Her plans for next year are to work on "archiving the minutes at
meetings", <br>
and "Publicizing and advertising" for the Graduate Student
News.<br><br>
<br>
<i>Treasurer:</i> <b>Open.<br><br>
</b>The nominee for this position was unable to attend the <br>
election meeting. The representatives voted to postpone
electing<br>
a candidate for the position until the next General Council
Meeting.<br><br>

2. <u>Association of Student Activities (ASA) Elections<br><br>
</u>Time: 6:45pm<br>
Place: 26-100<br><br>
The ASA is the body responsible for recognizing and assigning
office<br>
and bulletin board space to student groups. The ASA is a great
way<br>
for graduate students to get involved in ensuring that the needs<br>
of graduate student groups are addressed.<br><br>
Eight positions in the ASA Execboard are up for election:<br>
President<br>
Treasurer<br>
Secretary<br>
Undergraduate Member at Large (2x)<br>
Graduate Member at Large (2x)<br>
Student Member at Large (1x)<br><br>

vote is<br>
called, but it is best to have candidates before the meeting. The

requirement to be part of the ASA Execboard is to be an MIT student<br>
