Winners or not, all participants found value in the analytical exercise of dissecting a game’s narrative and communicating their findings.

If your school participated last year, we are looking forward to receiving your submissions again this year.

We’d also love to see more new schools give this program a try. The easiest way to do that is to simply introduce the attached template into an appropriate class as an assignment. Some schools further integrate this exercise into their curricula. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help foster implementation.

Attached to this email you will find:

A FAQ on the Game Narrative Review program (including when and how to submit)

A template for Game Narrative Review submissions

A sample of a completed Game Narrative Review

If there’s someone else at your school who should be the point on this, please send us their contact info.

As always, please let us know if you have comments or questions. We look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Lev
__________
Lev Chapelsky
GM, Blindlight LLC
Game Narrative Summit co-Chair, GDC Online
w: 323-337-9090 x3122
lev@blindlight.com
