hi,
 
ive just started using libGA. I cant compile the ga-test.c program.
I do it with this comand: gcc -lm -o ga-test ga-test.c
And it comes up with this error:
/tmp/ccSdTEwt.o: In function 'main':ga-test.c:(.text+0x2c):undefined reference to 'GA_config'
:ga-test.c:(.text+0x4c): undefined reference to 'X_select'
:ga-test.c:(.text+0x57): undefined reference to 'GA_run'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
 
This is without any modifications to the program, i.e. just using what I downloaded.
Could you tell me why and explain these errors and how to fix it, please?

I think you're talking about this C library:
ftp://ftp.uni-magdeburg.de/pub/mirror/hpux.ask.uni-karlsruhe.de/Maths/Misc/libga-1.00/libga-1.00.README.html, 
but this list is about this C++ library: http://lancet.mit.edu/ga/.

Together with the sources of GAlib there is a examples directory, try with these to test your installation.

Hi,
 
Is it possible to obtain the objective function value from a file?
I have a file that contains the objective function values i.e. the fitness values. Instead of calculating the obj function, i would like the objective function to open the file, read it and reproduce it. For osme reason, it does run properly.

Hi,

yes it is possible, but you will run in problems with the  
synchronization of file access. I prefer to run the external program  
using his stdout and reading the results per pipe (pstream.h).

   In this case

    16 bits represents a floating point number whose value can range
from -5 to 5.

	max and mean score of GASteadyState going to the same 	score??

Hello,
My name is Theeraphol Wattanakin. I am using GAlib to do my undergrad
research project.
When I used GASteadyState and printed out all score, I found the same score
in mean,max and min.
I am sure that the score I printed out one by one is not the same,so mean,
max and min should not be the same in each generation,too.
What am I do wrong? or Do I have to set some parameter before printing the
score?
