<p align="left">The <strong><a href="http://web.mit.edu/mitei/c3e/index.html">Clean Energy Education and Empowerment Initiative (C3E)</a></strong> is an effort to advance the careers and leadership of women in the field of clean energy. C3E is an international initiative within the <a href="http://www.cleanenergyministerial.org/">Clean Energy Ministerial</a> dialog. C3E partner governments are committed to advancing professional women in clean energy in their societies.</p>
<p align="left">The U.S. Department of Energy has partnered with the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI) to work to promote C3E goals.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>MITEI has spearheaded a C3E Awards program to recognize mid-career leadership and accomplishments in clean energy. C3E Awards winners will be named at a Symposium in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on September 28, 2012. Each C3E Award carries a $10,000 cash prize.</strong></p>
<p align="left">Nominations will be accepted in the following categories:</p>
<ul>
<li>Innovation and technology development</li>
<li>Entrepreneurship and innovative business models</li>
<li>Corporate implementation</li>
<li>Policy and advocacy</li>
<li>Advancements for the developing world</li>
<li>Education and mentorship of emerging women leaders</li>

<h3>Symposium</h3>
<p align="left">Awardees will be recognized at a <strong>C3E Symposium on Clean Energy</strong> on the MIT campus on September 28, 2012. Hosted by DOE and MIT, the symposium will provide a forum to learn about emerging issues and network with awardees and a distinguished cohort of senior professionals in the clean energy field.</p>
