<font face='Arial'>Dear Colleagues:<br><br>MIT and the U.S. Department of Energy have joined forces to increase the number of women in engaged in clean energy disciplines across the globe – and <b>we need your help to acknowledge the accomplishments of outstanding individuals from the US who have made significant contributions to enhancing clean energy across a range of disciplines.<br><br></b>Under the auspices of the Clean Energy Ministerial -- a government-to-government ministerial level effort of 24 countries to enhance clean energy around the world -- the MIT Energy Initiative and DOE have partnered to implement a key program of the Ministerial, the <A HREF="http://web.mit.edu/mitei/c3e/index.html">Clean Energy Education and Empowerment initiative (C3E)</A>. Each of the nine countries participating in the C3E initiative -- Australia, Denmark, Mexico, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States – is designing its own program to enhance professional opportunities for women in clean energy.<br><br>Working together, MITEI and DOE have developed a C3E program for the US with three major components centered on mentoring, information sharing and analysis, and recognition of accomplishment –<br><br>- A cohort of “Clean Energy Ambassadors” – accomplished women and men in clean energy fields who will spend a year mentoring younger women<br>- A symposium to highlight both key clean energy issues and women who help to solve them<br>- Recognition of outstanding work in the form of cash awards for:<br><br></font><font face='Arial' color='#1F497D'>• <b><i>Innovation and technology development<br></i></b>• <b><i>Entrepreneurship and innovative business models<br></i></b>• <b><i>Corporate implementation<br></i></b>• <b><i>Policy and advocacy<br></i></b>• <b><i>Advancements for the developing world<br></i></b>• <b><i>Education and mentorship <br><br></i></b></font><font face='Arial'>We are looking for nominees in these categories from across the country and across the range of clean energy disciplines – again, <b>we need your help. We invite you to take a few minutes to nominate outstanding individuals who have made major contributions to clean energy in these areas.<br><br></b>I am attaching fact sheets on C3E and the C3E awards nomination process.
