<div><tt><font color="#000000">The MIT Energy Conference is a unique
opportunity for students to be involved in defining the discussion on
energy. This year, the we want to make sure that everyone has a
chance to input their ideas for panels and as such, are calling upon
on all of you to let your ideas be known!</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><br></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">The 2008 MIT Energy Conference, held
April 11th and 12th, promises to be very exciting. We're following in
the footsteps of two phenomenal events, featuring such speakers as GE
CEO Jeffrey Immelt and renowned venture capitalist Vinod Khosla along
with topical panels featuring top-notch experts (videos, panel recaps,
and speaker information can be found on the</font></tt> <a
href="http://www.mitenergyconference.com/"><tt><font
color="#000000">conference web page</font></tt></a><tt><font
color="#000000">).</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><br></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">While the full conference organizing
team will be formed in November (keep an eye open for the kick-off
event around then to get involved), the longer lead times for putting
together content require that we begin early with the solicitation of
ideas.</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><br></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><b>So if you have an idea for a panel,
here is what you do:</b></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">(1) Attend the MIT Energy Conference
Content Kick-Off Event: Monday, October 1st at 6:30pm in
32-155</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">(2) Submit your ideas on or before
Friday, October 19th, by e-mail to
mit_energy_conference@mit.edu</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><br></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">If your panel idea is included you'll
be part of the panel team that brings the panel to
fruition!</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><br></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><b>When submitting your ideas for a
panel, please consider including the following:</b></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">- Topic, and why you think it is
important it be tackled</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">- Key question(s) you want to see
addressed</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">- Panelist perspectives you want to see
(e.g. seat from NGO, utility, and EPA)</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">- Ideas for prospective
panelists</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">- Submissions should be no longer than
one page</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">- Multiple panel idea submissions
allowed</font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000"><br></font></tt></div>
<div><tt><font color="#000000">Tentatively, we are considering three
large single-track panels focused on some major theme in energy
technology, policy, and entrepreneurship, respectively, along with 4
dual-track topical panels. Each would have a moderator, about 3
panelists, and would last about an hour. However, all ideas are
welcome and the final composition of the panel line-up will reflect
your ideas!</font></tt></div>
