Walt Musial from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden Colorado
will present an overview of the global status of wind energy technology and the
potential for the development of offshore wind energy in the </span></font><font
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman"'>United
States</span></font><font face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-family:
"Times New Roman"'>. The presentation will cover the state of the current
offshore technology, research needs to advance the technology, and a vision for
the future of electricity generated from offshore wind
turbines. <br>

Bio<br>
<br>
Walt Musial is a Senior Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in
Golden Colorado where he has worked for the past 17 years. He is
currently in charge of offshore wind energy activities at NREL and DOE.
Previously, he worked for five years on the </span></font><font
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman"'>California</span></font><font
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman"'> wind
farms. He is a graduate of the </span></font><font face="Times New Roman"><span
style='font-family:"Times New Roman"'>University</span></font><font
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman"'> of </span></font><font
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman"'>Massachusetts</span></font><font
face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-family:"Times New Roman"'> where he
received his BSME and MSME. <br>
