<br>
My solo show is getting its NYC premiere over the next couple weeks. It's gotten great press in the past, but for out-of-towners, that doesn't translate into audiences.
<br>
<br>
Hence the "ground game".... If you know ONE person in New York who'd appreciate a "powerful" (<i>Washington Post</i>) drama about healing -- could you forward?<br>
<br>
Thanks to all!<br>

As a boy raised in a devout Catholic family, Michael Mack wanted to be a priest. That dream ended after his pastor first invited him to the rectory. Michael soon left the Church, haunted by questions of sexuality and spirituality, but imagined one day meeting
his abuser again.<br>
<br>
Forty years later he had that chance, landing on his former pastor's doorstep for the conversations of a lifetime.<br>

Mack's play chronicles his forty-year odyssey from clergy sexual abuse as a child to healing as an adult -- a nuanced, complex portrait that netted rave reviews from the media, but also from sexual assault / abuse survivors, mental health professionals, Catholic
parishioners & clergy, and even the Boston Archdiocese.<br>
<br>
A performance at the Catholic Paulist Center of Boston netted a feature article on the front page of the national news section of
<b><i>The New York Times</i></b>.<br>
<br>
The play won a 2013 Artist Fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council -- the state's most competitive and prestigious individual arts award -- as well as an IRNE nomination from the Independent Reviewers of New England for Best Solo Play.<br>

CHURCH TALKBACK<br>
On Monday, July 21 at 7pm, join Michael Mack and Father Gil Martinez at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle,
<b>NYC's 2nd-largest Catholic Church</b> (only St. Patrick's Cathedral is larger), to discuss the issues raised by the play.
<br>
<br>
Paul the Apostle is mother church for the Paulist Fathers, a Roman Catholic order of priests. In the spirit of the Paulist Fathers' mission of reconciliation and social justice, the discussion will focus on healing – especially for those impacted by the clergy
sexual abuse crisis. FREE and open to the public. <br>
