<p class="MsoPlainText">About the Early Retirement Supplement<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText"> You are eligible for the ERS if you were a member of MIT’s Retirement Plan for Staff Members before July 1, 1989 and will have at least 20 years of service with MIT when you retire. The ERS adds an extra amount to your monthly pension
if you retire from MIT between your 60th birthday and the July 1st on or after your 65th birthday. The actual amount depends on your age when you leave MIT. The maximum ERS is $625 per month for retirement at age 60, reducing by about $10 per month until
it reaches zero. Any ERS payable to you will be included in your monthly pension and paid for your lifetime.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText"> If you are eligible, the PensionConnect system will recognize it and you will see the calculation in your retirement benefit. If you have concerns,
