<DIV>Hi Melanie,</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>We've done big 4x8 vertical banners to hang in lobbies, but they were mainly meant to catch someone's attention for the nano-second they see it as they are passing by, and get across the essential info only — in other words, there wasn't a lot of detail.<BR></DIV>
<DIV>You didn't specify, but I'm assuming this is a horizontal banner since it's at a booth, and that you are expecting people to linger and look at more details on the poster. I'm no expert, but I would still suggest keeping it relatively simple and bold, to ask yourself, "what are the two or three things we want people to take away from this poster?" and then, graphically, concentrate on those.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I'd also suggest checking with the Publishing Services Bureau, if you haven't already.</DIV>

<DIV>Good luck!</DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal>We will have a booth at a graduate studies fair in November, and I’m putting together the big 4x8 poster that will be behind the table at our booth. Would anyone have tips on the format for something like this or, even better, a template or example? <o:p></o:p></P>

<P class=MsoNormal>We have an idea of what content we want (“MIT Graduate Studies in Chemical Engineering” splashy title, names of our different programs and fun photos of research and students) but as for the look/layout for that content on such a big poster, I’m not sure what’s best to grab the attention of passers-by.<o:p></o:p></P>
