This is a bit obscure, but a former faculty member of my department who is now at Georgia Tech is looking for a "technical writer" contractor to assist him with various projects. This person would need to be in proximity to his school as he/she would be expected to attend meetings and other activities. Yes, I suggested he confer with his school's communications people, but, for some reason, he is wary of doing that - guess he's more comfy with MIT types (snicker).
