is now accepting nominations for the 2004<b> $50,000 Frank Annunzio
Award</b> honoring "cutting edge" innovations, and
providing incentive for continuing research and/or a specific
project. One $50,000 award will be presented in the<b>
Science/Technology</b> field. The award is bestowed on a living
United States citizen who has recently, or is currently, making a
beneficial impact on society through talent, knowledge and

AWARDS</b

The Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation is proud to announce it
is now accepting nominations for four<i><b> Homeland Security
Awards</b></i>. The United States and the world have moved into
a new era which necessitates the need for tighter and more vigilant
security in all areas. The Foundation will do its part by
awarding four<i><b> Homeland Security Awards</b></i> to individuals or
companies that are making a measurable and constructive contribution
related to basic and/or advanced research in the area of homeland
security which will result in a significant and positive benefit to
society. <br

The mission of the awards is to promote and encourage
"cutting edge" innovations in four homeland security
categories as follows: <br>
1)<i><b> Biological, Radiological, Nuclear</b></i> - Including
utilities (air, water, telephone), aviation, business vulnerabilities,
sensors, and lack of situational
awareness. <span

2)<i><b> Border/Transportation Security</b></i> - Airport security,
trucks, rail, and containers authorization, certification and
tracking. <span

3)<i><b> Emergency Response</b></i> - Interoperability, emergency
command centers, mobile devices (PDAs, cell phones, pagers,
Internet.) <span

4)<i><b> Information Sharing</b></i> - Cyber security, vertical and
horizontal (Federal, State and private) communications, ways to
encourage information sharing, privacy issues, and criminal and
terrorist watch
