<b>Subject: </b>[EXTERNAL] [ecco-support] Heat Budget in ECCO<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<div>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
</div>
<p>Dear Support team,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>I am willing to compute heat budget using ECCOv4 (Release3) . I started to follow the nice tutorial (<a href="https://ecco-v4-python-tutorial.readthedocs.io/ecco_budgets.html">https://ecco-v4-python-tutorial.readthedocs.io/ecco_budgets.html</a>). It starts
with the open_mdsdataset function to load the data, <o:p></o:p></p>
<pre><span class="n">ds_ave</span> <span class="o">=</span> <span class="n">open_mdsdataset</span><span class="p">(</span><span class="s1">'/rigel/ocp/users/jt2796/ECCO_v4_r2/run_budg3d_1yr/'</span><span class="p">,</span><o:p></o:p></pre>
<pre> <span class="n">delta_t</span><span class="o">=</span><span class="mi">3600</span><span class="p">,</span> <span class="n">ref_date</span><span class="o">=</span><span class="s1">'1991-12-15 12:0:0'</span><span class="p">,</span> <span class="n">geometry</span><span class="o">=</span><span class="s1">'llc'</span><span class="p">,</span><o:p></o:p></pre>
<pre> <span class="n">prefix</span><span class="o">=</span><span class="p">[</span><span class="s1">'monave2d'</span><span class="p">,</span><span class="s1">'monave3d'</span><span class="p">])<o:p></o:p></span></pre>
<p>but I am not too sure what should be the actual files targeted under the given directory (format?). Should it contain all the variables such as in
<a href="ftp://ecco.jpl.nasa.gov/Version4/Release3/interp_monthly/">ftp://ecco.jpl.nasa.gov/Version4/Release3/interp_monthly/</a> ? I have tried many options, but never seems to make it work. The error I get is "Couldn't find RC.meta file to infer nz.", so
I am guessing it is grid-related...<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>Sorry if I am missing something here. Thank you for your help,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>Damien<o:p></o:p></p>
