<p class=MsoNormal>I am just starting on a DSpace project in collaboration with
the IT department at my institution. I am selecting metadata fields to use and
would like to know why the dc.creation element is labeled “do not use;
only for harvested metadata”. I do not understand; I would think this
would be the most appropriate element for authors, regardless. If dc.creator
isn’t being used, what is the default author element?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Another question – the information on the DSpace wiki
is largely technical in nature. Is there a source for information for the
librarian side of things that I might have missed? Best practices for metadata,
search & discovery, interface design, workflows, how to work with users and
groups, etc.?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Thanks!<o:p></o:p></p>
