Estate is on the cusp of greatness. Hopefully, you have received your
invitations to join the MIT Real Estate Exchange; we are in the final
stages of bringing a new Chairperson to the Center for Real Estate; and our
first Thesis Day Webcast is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25th. In addition,
the Center is funding industry relevant, practical research in the areas of
affordable housing, real estate and the development of the future: place,
product, and prerequisites, investment and portfolio management, lease analysis,
and workplace design. We are involved in more projects than ever before in
our history. Are these areas relevant to you? If you are interested
in having a competitive advantage as a developer, the answer is "yes". If
you are interested in maximizing the return of your portfolio, the answer is
"yes". If you are interested in making informed investment and acquisition
decisions, the answer is "yes". All of the projects I have listed
will give you the advantage. The bottom line is that to maintain and
sustain the level of creativity, energy, and output that is required to
make the Center for Real Estate the international thought leader for the
real estate industry,<STRONG> <U>we need you and we need your
gifts</U></STRONG>! That is really the bottom

I recounted a story that President Vest shared with a group of
administrators. He said that when he first came to MIT he wanted to have a
capital campaign and raise $1B. The development team was aghast.
Raising that much money was unseemly and unprecedented at MIT. So,
President Vest raised the target to $1.5B. <STRONG><U><FONT
color=#0000ff>$2.0B was
raised</FONT></U></STRONG>. </FONT></SPAN></DIV>
