PLEASE DISTRIBUTE

If you happen to have received that unwanted *MIT* parking ticket - this past year - the MIT Parking and Transportation Office will once again sponsor a *"Toys for Tickets'* program. Yes, it really is true!

Instead of paying the fine on an outstanding MIT parking violation, the parking office will accept new, unopened toys to settle the ticket. *Just bring in the parking violation along with the cash register receipt to the parking office before WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2010. This program is open to anyone who has an outstanding MIT parking ticket. The value of the toy or game must be of equal or greater value than the parking violation. The Parking Office is located in the basement of the Student Center, W20-022.

We are also collecting new, non-violent, unwrapped toys and new warm clothing for those much less fortunate again this year. Toys and clothing can be dropped off at MIT Medical, E23-205, Community Wellness; or the MIT Police Station at W89, 301 Vassar Street, where there is short term parking available for dropping off toys, and short business in front of the station. All gifts will be distributed to the needy families who live in the neighborhoods abutting the MIT campus.

Also, if you need fingerprints for security clearance the normal $20 fee will be waived if you bring in a toy or warm clothing. Just bring in the cash register receipt along with your gift. Please schedule an appointment for finger prints with Sgt. Cheryl Vossmer at x3-9755.This will only be offered between November 29- December 15, 2010

Have you lost your MIT ID recently? Do you know there is a $15 replacement fee? This year the MIT Card Office will waive the replacement fee during between November 29 - December 15, 2010, if you bring in a new toy and receipt of equal or greater value.

Please help us put a smile and some warmth into the lives of needy families.

Sincerely,

Larry Brutti - MIT Parking and Transportation

Cheryl Vossmer - MIT Police

Winnie Dansby - MIT Medical

John McDonald - MIT Card Office
