<br></div><div>Oh, absolutely. I'm using c-p-d 5.1.1~bpo70+1 on Debian obviously. And I'm not only hiding the file — that clearly works — I'm replacing it with, as you say, another file with the same name and path (linked from /usr/share).<br>
