<div dir="ltr">Hello all,<div>Sorry for the long dormancy -- I'm back on top of things and will be in town and more active in September (I've accepted an offer to study for a PhD at Harvard, working in CS/robotics).</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, I was thinking of submitting a proposal to the Open Source Hardware conference about the topics we've discussed so far. I don't have a clear idea of what to say yet, though I do want to promote the ideas propelling the forming of CAD-discuss, but I figure this would get me off my butt to get around to organizing/doing a lot of the stuff we talked about last year.</div><div><br></div><div>I obviously found the knowledge and energy everyone in this group has contributed invaluable, and am happy to not submit & let someone else from the group submit on our behalf, if anyone is particularly excited about it :) Please just let me know! </div><div><br></div><div>I'm happy to help flesh out the proposal, or just provide moral support, if anyone else wants to speak on behalf of the group.</div><div><br></div><div>The call for speaker talks here:</div><div><a href="http://2016.oshwa.org/speak/">http://2016.oshwa.org/speak/</a></div><div><br></div><div>There is an emphasis this year on CAD, which I think is exciting.</div><div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left-width:1px;border-left-color:rgb(204,204,204);border-left-style:solid;padding-left:1ex"><p id="yui_3_17_2_1_1467057274404_497" style="font-family:'Source Sans Pro';font-size:18px;line-height:28.8px;margin:0px 0px 1.6em;color:rgb(38,51,51)">Topics of interest for the summit include, but are not limited to<br>Using, Building, and Growing Open Hardware:</p><ul id="yui_3_17_2_1_1467057274404_502" style="margin:1em 0px 1em 30px;padding:0px 0px 0px 40px;font-family:'Source Sans Pro';font-size:18px;line-height:28.8px;color:rgb(38,51,51)"><li>Digital fabrication and design tools (CAD / CAM)</li><li>Business models that support open hardware.</li><li>Sustainability of open hardware products (e.g. how to unmake things)</li><li>On demand and low volume manufacturing</li><li id="yui_3_17_2_1_1467057274404_501">Legal and intellectual property implications of open-source hardware</li><li></li></ul></blockquote><div><div><div class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div><font size="2"><font color="#666666">Thank you,<br></font></font></div><div><font size="2"><font color="#666666">--Nancy</font></font></div><div><br></div><div><font size="2"><font color="#666666">~~~<br></font></font><a href="http://www.orangenarwhals.com" style="font-size:12.8px" target="_blank">my personal blog</a><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-size:12.8px">, orangenarwhals</span></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
