<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We are a basic and translational cardiovascular research laboratory at MGH/Harvard Medical School with a strong emphasis on understanding rare disease mechanisms and applying these insights towards therapeutic
development.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We have enjoyed hosting recent graduates of undergraduate Biology programs as research assistants in our group. These research assistants were able to contribute to high impact research papers on clinical
and basic science projects in cardiovascular biology with our group while shaping their clinical and research interests and career goals through their experiences at our hospital. They have gone on to very successful careers in medicine and biomedical research.
In general, 50% of our lab’s recent graduates have pursued medical school after our lab, while 45% have pursued PhD or other advanced degree training in biology, and 5% have pursued MD-PhD training. They have published between 3 to 8 co-authored papers during
their tenure in our laboratory (and counting). Recent graduates have matriculated at programs at Dartmouth Medical College (MD) and University of Massachusetts (MD-PhD), while others have pursued PhD training programs at MIT (1 matriculated in 2018), and
the Harvard Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (3 have matriculated: 2011, 2020, and anticipated 2022 just being accepted).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
