<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">A technician position is available in the Nectow Laboratory at Columbia University in New York City. The Nectow Lab works on the neurobiology of energy balance. We place a particular
emphasis on the molecular, cellular, and circuit mechanisms through which the brain regulates how much one eats and how much energy one expends. We also develop novel technologies to better understand brain function. The successful candidate will have had
significant prior laboratory experience, ideally (but not necessarily) within rodent neuroscience.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">The successful candidate will help manage day-to-day laboratory operations, as well as design and implement experiments critical to the lab, possibly including (but not limited
to): molecular cloning, animal work, in vivo calcium imaging, and/or functional manipulations of neural circuits (e.g. optogenetics, chemogenetics). The candidate would ideally (though is not required to) have significant experience in advanced techniques
in neuroscience, such as behavior, immunohistochemistry and/or stereotaxic mouse surgery, as well as excellent organizational skills. Significant experience in molecular biology is valued, but not required. Regardless of prior experience and/or background,
we are always looking for individuals of exceptional talent and creativity, so please reach out to inquire about the position. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal.<o:p></o:p></p>
