<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Palatino-Roman;"><span class="">Dear Colleagues,<br class=""><br class="">Please join me in congratulating Ibrahim Cissé on his promotion to tenure at MIT, and in welcoming him as an official member of the Biology Department!</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Palatino-Roman;"><span class="">As many know, Ibrahim’s primary faculty appointment is in Physics, and <a href="https://mit.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7454ce474d7e7a07655749657&id=c6376f4a58&e=f2c1a242ec" target="_blank" class="">his research</a> leverages single-molecule and super-resolution imaging in live cells to study collective behaviors that emerge from weak or transient biomolecular interactions. His lab has been in Building 68 since his start at MIT in 2014 and he has several ongoing collaborations within our department. Faculty members from Biology were involved in interviewing and recruiting Ibrahim to MIT and we have benefited tremendously from his presence in our community. <br class=""><br class="">We have been waiting patiently since Ibrahim’s start at MIT to provide a joint appointment.
