<p style="text-autospace:none;0in;0in;.5in;.0001pt;normal;none">Facebook, with $100,000, fell to 2nd, behind Spotify’s “unlimited”. Perversely, America’s investment in understanding common, debilitating gynecology diseases – much less diagnosing and treating
them – is woefully thin. Pubmed cites over 23,000 papers on the topic of “erectile dysfunction”, a condition for which therapies are available….but just over 2,300 papers on adenomyosis, an underdiagnosed uterine disorder that is estimated to afflict 5-20%
of women, causing them to miss work or school. What is MIT doing about this sad gap in women’s reproductive health? A lot! And you can contribute.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="0in;0in;.5in;.0001pt;normal">Learn how, in 20.S900, a seminar class that offers a spectrum of opportunities to learn and become involved depending on your level of interest: 1 hr lecture per week (time TBD) plus optional clinical interactions and
mentored projects.<br>
Speakers include scientists, gynecology surgeons, computer scientists, device engineers from industry, drug developers, and various MIT faculty and students<o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="0in;0in;.5in;.0001pt;normal">taking MIT technologies and machine learning into the clinic. Opportunities for pre-meds to shadow clinicians, and to interact with patients as they go through diagnosis and treatment. Very strong emphasis on the translation
