As artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly powers various parts of our lives, we must more regularly and frequently ask questions about who benefits from AI, who is adversely affected by it, and how we can ensure its proliferation helps further strengthen

Artificial Intelligence & Equality is a new undergraduate special topics seminar that will be offered in Fall 2018 by the Lab for Social Machines at the MIT Media Lab. The purpose of the course is to prompt deeper thinking and reflection on the ethical implications
of AI — and in particular — how AI can both promote and impede equality. Each week, a guest speaker will be invited to spark discussion and debate on a topic related to AI & Equality. Speakers include David Autor (MIT Economics, Future of Work), Kade Crockford
(Director of Technology at Massachusetts ACLU), David Deming (Director of Harvard's Inequality and Social Policy Program), Rebecca Saxe (MIT Brain and Cognitive Sciences), and many more.<o:p class=""></o:p></div>
