<b>A practicing emergency physician, the founding Director of the Division of Global Health and Human Rights at MGH, and senior faculty member at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Burke served for seven years in the U.S. Army, </b><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 16px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); ">helped
establish a health system for 28,000 refugees in Guantanamo Bay Cuba and directed the emergency department in the U.S. Army's Landstuhl Regional Medical Center during the Bosnian crisis in 1995. Additionally, Dr Burke successfully started three companies and
directed an NGO dedicated to developing medical education systems in Eastern Europe.</span></b></div>

the D-LAB Health class at MIT, is the co-founder of Salud del Sol, a social enterprise focusing on providing solar health technology to clinics in Nicaragua. Her solar autoclave research project was recently identified by the World Health Organization as one
