--></style><title>Fwd: Technician Position at Harvard Medical
School</title></head><body>
<blockquote type="cite" cite>I am a researcher at Harvard Medical
School in Boston and am looking for a research technician for our
group to begin in June 2012. I would like to find someone interested
in applying to graduate school or medical school but who would like a
couple years of research experience beforehand. This would be a
full-time paid research assistant position with a 1-2 year commitment.
Our lab aims to understand the molecular underpinnings of development
of endodermal organs such as the pancreas and intestine using
embryonic stem cells (ES cells). We have developed a highly efficient
ES cell differentiation system toward these organs in which we have an
understanding of the signaling and transcriptional mechanisms
underlying cell fate decisions. We have generated corresponding
genomic data using ChIPseq, DNAse-seq, and mass spectrometry and are
now following up these experiments to unravel DNA-level mechanisms of
organogenesis. We are part of a large interdisciplinary initiative
called Syscode (<a href="http://www.syscode.org"><font
color="#0000FF"><u>www.syscode.org</u></font></a>) and closely
collaborate with computational biologists at Massachusetts Institute
of Technology with the goal of building a predictive model of
development that combines cell signaling inputs and transcriptional
interactions discovered in our experiments. The job duties would be a
mix of molecular biology including genomic techniques such as ChIPseq
and DNase-seq, as well as cell culture, specifically production,
maintenance and differentiation of embryonic stem cells. Additional
