topics" class that we are opening to Course 7 students who might be
interested in IP and innovation-related law. The class is called<i>
Basic Businesses Law, Tilted Towards Strategy and Innovation</i> and
is taught by Prof. John Akula.</blockquote>

<blockquote type="cite" cite>This class covers the fundamentals of law
that relate to cutting edge technologies and those issues affecting
transnational business, legal issues that may directly affect the work
of MIT School of Science graduates. The topics covered, include: 1)
the basics of Patents, Copyrights, Trade Secrets and Marks; 2)
Technology transfer and licensing /biomedical innovation; 3) Mobile
Devices / IP litigation; 4) Open source software / R&D alliances;
and 5) BRIC laws. Professor Akula invites in seasoned lawyers
who are experts in their field.</blockquote>
