<div class="gmail_quote">Dear Biology Undergrads,<br>
<br>
MIT ESP is looking for a teacher for a biology-oriented six-week
evening class geared towards motivated high school students for our
summer program, Junction. Junction
runs four evenings a week, two hours an evening, from June 30 through
August 12. This is an opportunity to teach something - anything - that
you find exciting in the field of biology. This is NOT your standard
summer teaching job! We
encourage teachers to think outside the usual classroom format and to
plan projects and activities that require real engagement with the
material. Because there is a substantial time commitment in teaching for
Junction, we pay teachers a stipend of $1500, as well as providing a
budget for
labs and other supplies.<br>
<br>
Junction is a project of the Educational Studies Program or ESP (<a href="http://esp.mit.edu/" target="_blank">http://esp.mit.edu</a>), a
group that connects MIT students and other Bostonians who want to
teach to high school students who want to learn. One of our Junction
teachers had
planned a class titled "Infectious Disease and Immunology," but a
conflict has developed and she cannot be here this summer. This leaves
us without a biology class in our line-up, and we would very much like
to fill that gap.<br>
<br>
If you are planning to be in the Boston area between June and August and
would like to teach a class on infectious diseases and immunology, or
another
bio-related topic, you can learn more about teaching
for Junction by going to <a href="http://esp.mit.edu/teach/Junction/index.html" target="_blank">http://esp.mit.edu/teach/Junction/index.html</a>
and/or emailing <a href="mailto:junction@mit.edu" target="_blank">junction@mit.edu</a>.
Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in applying for
this teaching position!<br>
<br>
Thank you,<br>
The Junction 2010 Team<br><br>
