The MIT Chapter of TAU BETA PI is please to announce the 2nd Annual
Service and Engineering Fellowship program.<br>
<br>
We will award up to 5 undergraduates with $2000 to $5000 each to
pursue a service engineering program this coming summer.<br>
<br>
Students of all disciplines are invited to apply. Deadline April 30th,
2009.<br>
<br>
To apply, send the following documents to <a
href="mailto:tbp-project@mit.edu">tbp-project@mit.edu</a><br>
1. A cover page consisting of the applicant's name, contact
information, class year, major, and<br>
project title.<br>
2. A brief abstract (less than 200 words) detailing project
descriptions and objectives.<br>
3. A proposal (less than 2000 words) describing community needs,
project aims, project<br>
timeline, technical approaches, anticipated impacts, and personal
motivations and<br>
qualifications.<br>
4. A proposed budget, including any other sources of support (applied
or confirmed).<br>
5. A letter of recommendation from a MIT faculty member who is
familiar with the applicant's<br>
character and project and can attest to his/her integrity and
ability.<br>
6. A letter of interest from the organization concerned (if
applicable).<br>
7. A resume.<br>
<br>
The TBP Service and Engineering Fellowship has the following
requirements:<br>
1. All aspects of the project requiring funding must be completed by
the end of the summer.<br>
2. Each fellow must submit a 3-5 page report that includes multiple
pictures of his/her project<br>
upon its completion.<br>
3. Each fellow must be prepared to present his/her accomplishments at
the Tau Beta Pi Fellows<br>
Forum (date TBA).<br>
4. Relevant receipts/proofs of payment totaling the awarded sum must
be submitted by the end<br>
of the summer.<br>
5. TBP reserves the right to reclaim all awarded funds if the above
requirements are not fulfilled.<br>

We will interview candidates in early May and notify fellows before
finals week.<br>
