<blockquote type="cite" cite>Developmental Regulation of DNA
Replication</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><font face="Lucida Grande">Proper
regulation of the initiation of DNA replication is essential to
maintain accurate genomic content, and defects in replication leading
to increases or decreases in gene copy number are one cause of
cancer. A limitation to identifying regulatory mechanisms for
replication initiation in higher eukaryotes has been the difficulty in
isolating replication origins. This project will exploit model
replicons identified in Drosophila to define control mechanisms for
replication initiation. Both genetic and cell biology approaches
will be used to monitor DNA replication in transgenic
lines.</font><br>
