An advanced class in synthetic biology that is well suited for
advanced undergraduates or graduate students across multiple majors
(20, 7, 6 etc.). 20.902/947 coursework will include (a) reading,
presentation, and discussion of primary synthetic biology research
literature, and (b) advising and mentorship of a small undergraduate
team comprised of first year biological engineering students.

The goals for 20.902/947 students will be to gain an in depth
understanding of the state of research in synthetic biology, develop
or refine skills needed to critically read, present, and discuss
primary research literature, and develop or improve skills for
managing and leading small teams.

20.020 and 20.902/947 will meet concurrently from 11:30-1p T/R and
W
2-5p in 26-152 at MIT. Except for literature reading and
discussion preparation, most of the 20.902/947 work will take place in
class (regular attendance is required).
