<blockquote type="cite" cite>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite>Dear MIT Senior,</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite> </blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite>Welcome to another Fall term! As you
prepare to begin your final undergraduate year at MIT, I want to let
you know about an exciting new degree program offered by the MIT Sloan
School of Management: the Master of Finance (M.Fin.)
program.</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite> </blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite>This intensive 12-month (June - May)
degree program is designed to prepare students for careers in the
financial industry. The program consists of required courses,
restricted and general electives in finance and finance-related areas,
a proseminar, and an optional Master's thesis. MIT
students from across all disciplines are eligible to apply to enroll
in the M.Fin. program as a fifth year of focused study following any
MIT undergraduate degree.</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><i> </i></blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><i>Due to space constraints, June 2009
enrollment will be limited to 25 students, with high priority given to
those who have earned an undergraduate degree from MIT</i>. In
subsequent years, however, the program will accommodate up to 60
students and will welcome applicants from outside of MIT.</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite> </blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite>The M. Fin. website will be available
soon (http://mitsloan.mit.edu/mfin). In the meantime, information
about the curriculum, tuition, and other details are given
below.</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite> </blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite> </blockquote>

<blockquote type="cite" cite><u><b> </b></u></blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><u><b>Curriculum</b></u></blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite>Many of the required and elective M.Fin.
courses carry 9 or 12 units of H-level credit. Thus any M.Fin. student
who satisfies the program requirements will easily meet the Institute
requirement of 66 units of credit, including a minimum of 42 H-level
units, in order to receive the Master's degree.</blockquote>
