The Science and Technology Leadership Association (STeLA), under the
auspices of the MIT-Japan Program, will host the second annual
conference, the STeLA Leadership Forum 2008, an 8-day intensive
workshop in Boston in August 2008.

The focus of the forum is: to develop leadership skills related to the
field of science and technology on a global level and to bring
together the next generation of scientists, policy-makers, engineers
and entrepreneurs thus forging a network of leaders. Last summer, we
held a conference in Tokyo, with the total of 40 participants from
Harvard, MIT, Princeton and leading universities in Japan, with
participants representing 8 countries from around the world. This
year, we will be hosting a conference in Boston, and welcoming
students from universities in Japan and China. We would like to
encourage graduate and undergraduate students to apply for this
exciting conference.

During the forum, participants will experience various educational and
exciting events! For example:

(1) Original leadership education program based on
distributed-leadership model developed in MIT Sloan
(2) Keynote speeches by Nobel laureates, Prof. Phil Sharp and Prof.
Susumu Tonegawa
(3) Site visits to local companies and laboratories.
(4) Group Project on film making as an exercise of distributed
leadership.
