<blockquote type="cite" cite>I'm writing to ask your help in
encouraging students in your department to complete an important UROP
survey that we are administering this spring.</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><br></blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite>This multi-faceted survey assesses all
major aspects of UROP participation. The instrument is
intended to gather substantial information about the various facets of
UROP, including motivations to participate, quality of experience and
supervision, benefits and outcomes of UROP involvement, and challenges
faced by undergraduate researchers. As the Institute looks ahead to
broadening opportunity and resources for undergraduates to conduct
faculty-mentored research, candid student responses will prove
extremely valuable.<br>

<blockquote type="cite" cite><b>As our thanks for completing the
survey by April 24, students will be asked to choose their preferences
in a raffle for the following prizes:</b><br>
</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><b>First Prizes:</b> Choice of an iPhone
or $400 in TechCash (two first prizes will be awarded)</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><b>Second Prizes:</b> Choice of an iPod
Nano or $150 in TechCash (five second prizes will be
awarded)</blockquote>
<blockquote type="cite" cite><b>Third Prizes:</b> $50 in TechCash (20
third prizes will be awarded)<br>

<blockquote type="cite" cite>The survey is completely voluntary and
students may answer as few or as many questions as they wish.
Responses will be completely confidential and survey analysis results
will not be reported in any form that would identify an
individual.<br>
