Thinking of applying to grad or med
school? Get ahead by submitting a UROP summary, research report, or
feature article to the MIT Undergraduate Research Journal (MURJ). Not
only will you get a publication under your belt, but also your work
will be read by MIT community members and you may qualify to win
up to $225!

Our Fall 2007 issue will have the theme
of Biomedical Research. Submissions can take the form of a:

* UROP summary- 300-600 word
summary of research that you have done in your UROP, similar to a UROP
proposal.
* Research report- an original research paper written to
educate MIT undergraduates.
* Feature article- an original piece about a topic of your
choice (tissue engineering, the ethics of stem cell research, health
care policy… whatever interests you), similar to a Scientific
American article.

In recent months, MURJ has received an enormous amount of publicity;
our last issue featured a letter of introduction from President
Hockfield and was distributed at a university professionals conference
in July. This issue will be read by many alumni, companies, and
professors. Obviously, it will be an awesome addition to
your resume!

We will hold a competition for the Best
Report ($100), Best Feature Article ($100), and Best UROP Summary
($25). Winners will be determined by the Editors of MURJ, and
submissions will be evaluated anonymously. Prizes will be in the form
of gift certificates.

The deadline for submissions is September 25th. If you haven't seen it
already, you can check out our last issue at <a
