We are hoping that you can post it to your graduating seniors. </FONT> <BR> <BR><FONT size="2" face="sans-serif">Thank you,</FONT> <BR><FONT size="2" face="sans-serif">Lisa</FONT> <BR> <BR><TT><FONT size="2">TECHNICAL ASSISTANT, to join the Neuroengineering and Neuromedia group at the MIT Media Lab, and assist in all aspects of developing next-generation neural interfaces for confronting intractable brain disorders. The Neuroengineering and Neuromedia group applies biological and physical engineering methodologies to create targeted brain interventions. Will spend 60% of time performing many standard biology tasks and protocols, on a small scale (histology, preparing solutions and media, cell line and primary neuron culture, molecular gene cloning, lentivirus production, mouse genotyping/colony maintenance), 20% of time supporting laboratory work (working with an administrative assistant to do ordering and inventory, and to maintain lab order), and 20% of time supporting engineering work (assistance with machine operation or maintenance, assistance with acquisition and analysis of data for device testing, and assistance with rudimentary computer programming/elect!<BR> ronics assembly). <BR> <BR> REQUIREMENTS: a B.S. in an interdisciplinary field such Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Biological Engineering, with 3-5 years of successful molecular/cell biological, computer, and engineering experience in an academic or industrial bioengineering research setting. Must have highly refined skills in molecular biology and cloning, cell line and primary neuron cell culture, virus work, soldering/oscilloscope use, and MATLAB/C programming. Must be able to learn quickly, be willing to teach learned information to highly-motivated lab members, and to juggle the dynamic events that occur when participating in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment. Must have superb organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Must be able to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Must be independent and self-motivated, yet able to work as part of a tightly-knit team of faculty, staff, and student innovators and neuroengineers in an intens!<BR> e small-team environment.
