We want to bring to your attention that the Pharmacology and
Toxicology Department at Dartmouth Medical School is actively
recruiting qualified graduate students for the 2006-2007 academic
year. The Department is experiencing an impressive period of
growth with the recent recruitment of new faculty members. We will
soon recruit two additional faculty members. All qualified
students in the life sciences are encouraged to apply early (by
January 20, 2006 ) so they can participate in our Interview Weekend on
March 3rd to the 5th, 2006. The Interview Weekend is a two-day
all expenses paid opportunity for outstanding applicants to learn
first-hand about the exciting biomedical career opportunities
available within our Department at Dartmouth.

Some undergraduates are less familiar with recent advances in the
discipline of Pharmacology that exploits basic scientific insights
made possible through our new understanding of genomics, proteomics
and molecular biology. The scope of research pursued by our
Department takes full advantage of these advances especially in the
areas of Biochemical Pharmacology, Cancer, Carcinogenesis, Molecular
Therapeutics, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Neurobiology and Molecular
Cardiology. State of the art facilities and substantial external
grant support from Federal, Foundation and industrial sources support
our research program.

Our graduate program offers a fostering academic environment while
rigorously preparing students for a successful biomedical career.
Students have full and guaranteed financial support including a full
tuition scholarship and a stipend that is currently $23,250 per
year. The Pharmacology and Toxicology Department is an
integral part of the Dartmouth Medical School and the broader
Dartmouth College academic community. It is located in the
picturesque Northern New England town of Hanover, NH. We have
close ties with the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, an NCI-designated
comprehensive cancer center and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical
Center, the major primary and tertiary care provider for northern New
England.

Please forward this letter directly to students with potential
interest in our graduate program as well as to all relevant academic
advisors at your institution. Graduate student candidates
should review our web site ( http://www.dartmouth.edu/dms/pharmtox/)
to learn more about this academic opportunity. Interested
students should complete our free electronic application process, as
outlined at this web site. To request additional information,
please contact Dr. Alan Eastman at: Alan.Eastman@Dartmouth.edu or the
Department via e-mail at:
Pharmacology.and.Toxicology@Dartmouth.EDU.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,
