<blockquote type="cite" cite>L'Oreal is seeking MIT students for paid
six-month research internships in France starting September or October
2005. Interns will be placed within L'Oreal's life science or
materials science departments.<br>

<font face="Arial" size="-1">Cosmetological and dermatological
research is the focal point of L'Oreal's development strategy and is
one of the keys to its success. The ever-improving effectiveness and
quality of L'Oreal products are based on innovation, which has been
nurtured since chemist Eugene Schueller founded the Group in
1907.</font> L'Oreal's<font face="Arial" size="-1"> laboratories
continue to strive to design and develop innovative techniques,
research tools and instruments for verifying and measuring. Advances
in cosmetological research have made it possible to discover new
applications in the medical field that improve people's health and
well-being. Progress in research also furthers the cause of ethics,
promotes respect for the environment and helps deepen knowledge of the
basic workings and processes of the hair and skin.</font> (See

In the<b> life science</b> department, L'Oreal is seeking an intern
for an important research project in cellular pharmacology. The study
will focus on the redox state and systems of cellular protection in a
cellular culture.<br>

The<b> materials science</b> department is seeking a chemistry student
specialized in organic synthesis and physical chemistry
characterization.<br>
<br>
