</b>This course is geared towards students who have completed a stay
abroad experience and want to achieve a better understanding of how
broader global developments are affecting sectors and countries of
their interest. The course will provide a structured academic
framework for students to analyze and compare their learning in
foreign work, research, or study environment. Building on their
experiences students analyze different dimensions of working in a
globally operating business or environment such as work culture in
foreign and international companies, research labs, and academic
settings; impact of globalization on research and development;
knowledge-creation and varied roles of engineers in different
cultures; issues of cross-cultural communication and
miscommunication. Students present case studies from their
international experiences. Emphasis on comparative approaches.
