Abstract

The Stardust mission successfully returned to Earth samples
of Comet Wild 2. Preliminary analysis of these samples
indicate that many of the minerals in the comet were formed
at much higher temperatures than expected in the comet
formation region of our solar nebula. I will discuss what
these materials are telling us about the dynamical evolution
of our solar nebula and present a model for their origin that
is consistent with our astrophysical understanding of how
planetary systems form.
