SafeForBikes -- making Central Square safe for bikers

The companion website for this list is http://safeforbikes.org/ SafeForBikes is a list used by people working on the problem of bicycle safety on Mass Ave in Central Square and around MIT's campus. Mass Ave from MIT to City Hall is dense with bikes, private cars, buses, taxis and pedestrians... and is recognized by local cyclists as a very dangerous place to ride. The participants in this list will attempt to work on-and off-list with each other and with the local government to make Central Square more safe, as quickly as possible. For spam protection: Membership in the list is open to ANYONE who wants to help (MIT or not)... but new subscription requests must be approved by a moderator. Only list members may post to the list... so after you subscribe, please wait for your subscription to be confirmed before posting. Using SafeForBikes
To post a message to all the list members, send email to safeforbikes@mit.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to SafeForBikes
Subscribe to SafeForBikes by filling out the following form. This is a closed list, which means your subscription will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
