eh-open -- Open mailing list for Edgerton House

To encourage discussion within the Edgerton House community, a new mailing list eh-open@mit.edu has been created for your use. This list will enable residents to send e-mails to the house community without moderation, and allow us to keep eh-announce@mit.edu and eh-events@mit.edu the official mailing lists of the Edgerton House Association. Rest assured, nonsubscribers should not be able to send messages through eh-open. What kind of e-mails should you send out to eh-open@mit.edu? Please use your judgment, but here are some ideas: - an event that you or your student group is responsible for (e.g. "Come to tomorrow night's Spring-tober Fest at the Thirsty Ear!") - lost and found messages (e.g. "I lost my watch that my grandmother gave me for my birthday," "We saw a jacket left in the large lounge last night") - questions pertaining to house life (e.g. "What is appropriate 'formal attire' for the Grad Gala reception and dinner to follow?", "Is the hot water not working for anyone other than us?") - missed connections? (e.g. "I saw you standing there in the front lobby... you were cute") ok ... maybe not missed connections ;) To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the eh-open Archives. Using eh-open
To post a message to all the list members, send email to eh-open@mit.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to eh-open
Subscribe to eh-open by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
